  1. VICE PRESIDENTS OF COLOMBIA AND USA WILL MEET TO IMPROVE THE FLA
The 24 of January the vice president Garzon will travel to USA. His visit marked the first offensive of the National Government to promote ratification of the FLA between Colombia and that country, and drive the agenda on Human Rights presented the president Juan Manuel Santos.
Garzon is going to have a meeting with Joe Biden the vice president, Hillary Clinton the secretary of state and the liders of the democratic and republican caucuses.
Two weeks ago, john McCain, ex presidential candidate and republican lider, tells the EL TIEMPO that does not approve the FLA in 2011 will be “a slap” for Colombia.
Politician: vice president of U.S. and Colombia are meeting to promote FLA in Colombia, for signing the treaty requires that Congress agrees, and is a part of the congress does not agree so Garzón is going to convince the Congress that in Colombia the humans rights are met and also he is going to show them what our government is doing to met them.
Economic: as the new is of the FLA has a lot to do with economy, if the treaty is signed the economy in Colombia will improve because we could export products without paying tax to USA and the Colombian companies will sell more, bus if Garzon do not convince the senate and they do not sign the treaty the economy con be affected.
Social: have a positive social impact because the government is going to worry more about human rights since the U.S. Congress think are not being met.

  8. NULE BROTHERS CORRUPTION:

The Nule brothers were famous contractors on Colombia who paid politicians so that they could be chosen to do improvements and development projects in Bogotá and all around the country, which means that for making a project like this one, enterprises have to tell their Price for it and how much time they would take to make it; then the government chooses the best Enterprise to make the work; but as the Nule paid for people to choose them they would always win the contract, the problem was that they won even more because they also said that they needed more money to do the work, and they used the money to pay for the people on the government that helped them to be chosen and wasted a lot of time before they started to work on the projects. Right now the Nule brothers are called to trial but they are out of the country.

  26. CAREFUL WITH SOCIAL NETWORKING DATING – “children are more prone to possible crimes in the web”: on February 5th 2010, a mother received a call saying that her 14 year old daughter was dead, and she didn’t know anything about her, since three days before that occurred.
That called, made an alert on the police, so they started investigating about what really happened; she disappeared after she went on a date with a ‘friend’ she met on Facebook. She was at his house at, El Barrio Alfonso Lopez., she was scared, lost and hungry but without violent signs, so it is still a mystery what she did in those 3 days that she was lost and what were the reasons that made her not to call home. But her parents said: “you're not careful because you do not know about these social networks, but you have to work with children to talk about the dangers that they have.”
    - Political impact: Problems like this one, questions the government about what type of laws they have for the social networking, the dangers and the wrong and dangerous use some citizens are giving to it.
    - Economical impact: In this case the economical impact was the high cost, for an investigation to search for the girl, and to search about what really happened to her.
    - Social impact: Mainly the social impact comes from the fact that people who have social accounts are very vulnerable by exposing all their information and allowing strangers to have access to their accounts. In some cases this strangers, are people with bad intentions, who do wrong stuff for selfish purposes like money. This could happen to anyone, creating fear and insecurity in the society.

  27. Egypt's Mubarak refuses to stand down
Cairo, Egypt (CNN) -- Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak stubbornly clung to the presidency late Thursday night, refusing in a highly anticipated speech to step down by saying he does not take orders from anyone outside Egypt.
However, Mubarak said he would "delegate powers" to Vice President Omar Suleiman, according to the Constitution -- a major concession from the man who has ruled Egypt with an iron fist for 30 years.
It was not enough for protesters in Tahrir Square.
"Get out! Get out!" they chanted angrily as Mubarak spoke. Demonstrators are demanding he step down immediately.
They watched his speech on screens hoisted above their heads up on the square. Quiet at first, protesters waited to hear what Mubarak would say. When it became clear he would not stand down, they erupted.
"Illegitimate!" they cried. "Mubarak, the coward, must stand down!"
In his speech, Mubarak stressed -- as he has before -- he would not run for another term in September.
His comments came at the end of another long and tense day of protests in Egypt.
Rumors had run rampant before he spoke that Mubarak was planning to step down. Many also had predicted he would deputize Suleiman, the former intelligence chief, to take control. For that to happen under the current Constitution, Mubarak must retain the title of president -- as he has.
Suleiman addressed the nation soon after Mubarak, urging Egyptians to remain calm and go back to work.
He said he was committed to doing "whatever it takes in order to have an orderly transition of powers in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution."
"Go back to your houses. Go back to your work. The homeland needs your work," said Suleiman.

  42. NEWS:The Constitutional Court aprooved the decree of the social and economical emergency.

The social and economic emergency was declared by the government to confront the effects of winter that the country experienced last year. (This emergency was declared for 30 days.) The Constitutional Court found that there was an event that warranted the emergency. The court assessed the existence of a climate phenomenon (la niña) that led to increased rainfall and rising river levels, especially of the Magdalena, Cauca and Atrato above their historic rates.

More than 26 states were affected by the rainy season and the administration of Juan Manuel Santos estimated that the state should spend about 10 billion pesos to cover the affected areas. Government reports indicated that over 2 million people were affected by the weather.

Social Impact: This is going to allow people to access different types of support that otherwise would not have been possible without the government’s help.

Economical Impact:The emergency will allow the resources for the victims turn into real proyects faster.

Political Impact:This emergency allows the gorverment to denmostrate their abilities to manage the crisis.

  46. WINTER EMERGENCY IN COLOMBIA
    By: Paulina Sánchez B.

Polly: this is the new that I will present this Thursday, April 28.

After the horrible climate disaster that the country suffered last year Colombia wasn’t prepared for something like this to happen again after only five months.
This new winter that started just a few weeks ago has left more than 3 million of Colombian people in danger, a million suffering and 69 deaths through over 1000 municipalities in 28 of the 32 departments. The worst ones are: Antioquia, Valle Del Cauca, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Santander and Norte de Santander and in there, 7 rivers and 7 dams have overcome their maximum level and they have flood many roads and towns.
During holy week 7 national roads and more than 30 alternative ones were totally closed, while more than 200 had restricted pass. Many airports have been closed for some hours because of the bad climate.
With these awful conditions the country expected for the government to give immediate helps to everyone that needed them, but many people have said that they haven’t received what they need yet.
The Ideam estimates that the rain in the Andean region of the country won’t end before June, when it moves to the coasts.

    Economical impacts:
Many people lost their jobs and they would have to stop producing what they used to and look for a new one affecting the economy of the country.
All over the country many fruit and flowers crops are flood so many of those products that were exported to many other countries can’t be exported again for a while affecting not only Colombia’s, but many other countries’ economies.
Many roads all over the country have been closed because of the damages and the country lost a lot of money because many of them had been fixed and now they will have to fix them again.
As many roads are closed the trucks that transported products through them can’t transport them anymore and many of those products need to get to the countries’ ports so they can be transported to many other places.
The closing of roads and airports affected the tourism in Colombia during holy week.

    Political impacts:
The government will have to give help to more than a million people that need a new home, food and many other living essentials.
The government will also have to fix many roads that Colombian people need in their everyday lives to maintain their jobs or to get to their homes.
The governors, mayors and the president have been criticized a lot because the affected people have said that they haven’t received help yet.

    Social impact:
Many people lost their homes, their jobs, their lives, their families and everything they had.
This people will have to move to another place to find a new way of earning their lives without knowing if the will find opportunities.
Many people are in disapproving with the government because they haven’t received the help they need to recover their lives.

  47. Establishing legal action to prohibit the reggaeton in Colombia
“““Songs that seem to have subliminal messages that encourage drug consumption, Joaquín Torres led the lawyer to establish a class action against the National Government to ban the sale and dissemination of reggaeton in Colombia.

The legal action was upheld by the Administrative Court of Bolivar.

"I consider it necessary that the President of the Republic of Colombia clearly tell if it is true, he does not want in this country is consumed marijuana or any drug, it is strange that on the one hand to promote an event legislative which again is to ban the transport and minimal dose of drugs and on the other hand, is flooded to all young people and the community at large through the media, be it radio, television or other means of communication, to hear songs that are openly encouraged the use of drugs, "he said referring to the song" Creepy creepy. "

He added the training of law that "does not interest me to become a prosecutor to be put in jail a person, what interests me is that the Government set a clear position or allow the use of drugs so "confrontational" and recognize this, or the Government set a sincere position in which to act, avoid stimulating the consumption of drugs. "

The lawyer Joaquín Torres expected to ban such songs, to avoid inciting the youth to drug use in the country. ”””
In some of the characteristics of reggaeton that appeared on the web. Reggaeton lyrics are especially created to promote sex. And it’s dance sometime called doggy style, shows it directly.
    IF DEMAND PASSES:
In part, those who remain of reggaeton will be affected, since this is their job, so they will have to look for other opportunities. (Social and economic)
There could be a social rejection on this decision, there could be protests because of this disagreement and because of that a social disorder may affect the government and police will have to interview. (Social)
As this has become the typical music of Colombia for the young people, it could be prohibit but as it likes too much, possibly it will be listen illegally. (Social and politic)
Besides that there will be a court to process this claim, if the government want to stop the consume of drugs, they still have to look for answers. (Political)
Politically, there could be differences with other countries were this kind of music is accepted, countries were this music was born. (Political)

  48. The army combats the bacrin and the farc in the Pacific.

The army has a plan to attack the bacrin (Bandas criminals) and the farc in the pacific coast because they are killing and extorting the people and also because the pacific coast is the site where much of the cocaine productions are getting export. The last week the Farc kills 3 policemen in Cauca and in Nariño are 25 municipalities affected.

•Politic impact: if the army wins this case is good to Santos because he is doing his proposals and because the people will be more confident.

•Social impact: the people of the pacific (Cauca, Valle del Cauca and Nariño) are scare because the bacrin are there so they move of their homes and move to the biggest cities of the pacific like Cali so they become displaced.

•Economical impact: because the people are scare so they go and stop producing and taking care of their lands.

  49. The war spills into Tunisia

The civil war between the forces loyal to Lybian leader, Muammar Gadafi, endangered the residents of the city of Dhuheiba.

The troops enter to the city using heavy military arsenal attacking the civilians and damaging the buildings.

The Tunisian government reacted immediately through their foreign minister who said the country will not tolerate any repetition of such violations.

But no longer giving it apart the son of the leader repeats my father regime will not fall down even if the booms continue 40 years.

But the civilians finally decontrolled the situation.

Political analysis: the strong forces and the devastation of government will clearly affect the politic part, because of being with out a president Libya is one of the most vulnerable countries of the world and it can not sustain their government there are being attacked by their ex president and their will need the political support of other nations, who can a nation leave with out a president and the ones who are taking the decisions must take them correctly if not they will be also expulsed of the country or if they help they will be rewarded by the population after all this conflict is solved.

Economical analysis; the economical part of Libya will be focused on preparing this country to face the war done by Gadafi and not to be retimed by these president they will also need all the help of countries to restart the growing of the cities and put them
Again into normal life no longer they will need also humanitarian help to cure the ones who suffered wounding.

Social analysis: the civilians who where wounded by these troops will be clearly upset but the ones who fight must continue with these because a nation can not let a single person let them into a war , normal life will be ruined all people who had a work they will probably lose it , they will probably also lose their families and they will need the physiological support of all the people who love the all the families are suffering pain.

The social impact: people will be unemployed because of the winter, so they will have to stop working. And the banana will get more expressive at the market

The economic impact: owners of the banana crops will not have money to pay the taxes, so they will start to own money to the government and the employers will undermine the lack of product revenues because the crops were flooded

The political impact: is that the employers ask help to the government with the money to fix the hectares that were damaged and make news hectares of banana

The U.S. government called extreme security measures at its embassies and intensified surveillance at airports of metro Washington and New York. Other countries also took action in the event that Al Qaeda wants to take revenge for the death of their leader.
*Political Impact: It has two possibilities, that Obama’s poll rating increase dramatically, because of killing the most wanted terrorist in the world. Or it can decrease too because of Al Qaeda’s revenge in United States.
*Social Impact: Not everyone can enter now to the U.S. as easy as before, because Obama increased security at airports and subways.
*Economic Impact: The economy becomes unstable because the government should invest more money to increase security.

Economical impact: If these had happened before, or if these happens again some countries or at least Isrrael will stop trusting Colombia or at least wont let more Coffe from us, go in wich could make an impact in our economy, and importing to Arabic countries could get a little bit difficult.
Social impact: Colombia is constantlly trying to clean its name, and it is doing it, but with these type of events we just go back to our reputation, all Colombians have a fame of drug dealers, and these make that suposition be more possible, it could bring us some problems traveling or we will have less tourists or more but with other intensions.
Politic impact: These might be telling the other countries that the goverment is insuficient, they will see that our goverment cant handle the drug traffic, and the image that these shows to the citizens is that the goverment might be losing force or that the drug traffic is increasing or getting power…

Political impact: this shows how our authorities abuse from their power to gain things for themselves like have more money, without caring about the poor people and the inequality in Colombia.

Social Impact: that in Colombia almost every social problem is the result of the corruption of the politic people like the poorness, the hunger, and the violence.

Economicas Impact: that if in Colombia we don't realize that the corruption is the cause of the economical and social inequality we are going tobe always a undeveloped country.

  56. They let rot 12.500 bags of food “mercaditos”.
In 2008 12.500 “mercados” were bought for the victims of the winter and were store in Cartagena. But they didn’t distribute them so they got rotten. While people suffer, food was being lost.
This humanitarian help was destined for people in the south of the department of Bolivar.
There are people that were (and continue) affected that don’t understand why they let the food rot. Some of them went to the storage and started to search for what was left.
Because in 3 years it wasn’t decided what to do with the food, a judge of Cartagena ordered to take them out of the storage, but they didn’t.
The food was basically composed by chocolate, rice, coffee and sugar. All of those have been completely lost, some was eaten by animals.
The ones that sold the food to the community were also affected, because they assure that they own them more than 9.000 millions of pesos.
The governor of Bolivar says that the case is going to be investigated.
Political impact: this shows that the government is having problems with the management of helps and donations that are being recollected, so people would start doubting about the government and questioning if this might be happening in other parts of the country.
Economical impact: this was a great lose of money and they would need more to compensate this, and collect food again to help the victims that didn’t receive help. They also have to pay the money they own fast, because the community will start to doubt about the government.
Social impact: people are upset of the lost and they may revolt and ask the government for answers, and ask for support. The community will fill forgotten.

Farc recognized to have killed 8 indians because they refer to them as “soplones”. These facts led 600 indians to make a walk against Farc, with the walk they recovered 5 bodies of the 8 indians killed.

Social impact: society is shocked by the level of brutality that have come the Farc by slaughtering innocent people especially indians or native people only because they seem to be “soplones”. We have to take into account that Indians are a very important part in our culture and there are not a lot of them left.

Political impact: generates mistrust from the indians of the protection they are receiving from the government because even if they were in a safeguarding they were attacked.

Economical impact: because of the indians are people that Works in a community, the disappearance of these people affect the production on their land to generate a probable decline in production of the land.

    Why did workers were protesting?
    * 18 hours of working each day, and 40 days without a break
    * Some workers have been working for more than 3 months and aren't yet affiliated to social security.
    * Unfair payment.
    * No payment to workers during test period.

Economic Impact: As the workers don't work, pacific rubiales cant get money from the oil plant, and the goverment cant get money from it, so the country will be affected because oil is very important for our economy.

The autorities are really woried about thise type of situations, because these week at least 13 cases of people trying to fly as known “ mulas” have been registered.

POLITICAL: the government is really woried because both teens and adults have been catch trying to enter drugs these way, is a difficult way to catch people and at the same time is difficult to control and now is becoming even more popular, the drug dealers migth start to get even more power and if its notice thet thise technique of swallow the drug, for the government would be much difficult to catcht theme so the autoritiees would be losing power
ECONOMICAL: These impact would be that the money that enters to colombia may be like dirty money and in the other hand the money the drug dealers manage wont really end in the government and if it ends would be of chantage or things like that, the bad people would be the one with Money or at least th eones who dont deserve it.

On June 3, 2010 there was a fire that consumed about 200 homes in el Alto de la Virgen. Now the city hall decided to build an ecological park where this fire occurred, to build it it was necessary to provide housing solutions to those who were affected. The city hall is providing them housing options in Nuevo Occidente because there are still 68 families who don’t want to evacuate because they say there is not enough security or space in the houses they are providing.

Political impact: when the city hall is building these houses they are obeying to the government plan and they are doing their responsibilities as city hall.

Social impact: when they build this park they are providing people places to enjoy and where you can go and have fun.
But there is also a negative social impact because they have a problem that is that these 68 people don’t want to evacuate this place.

Economic impact: the park would provide more job options for people. The city hall had to spend money giving these houses to the people affected and also building the park.

  74. My news is about climate change that the eastern will have to face with. la corporación autónoma is implementing rules and controls to prevent environmental damage and ecology damage.
So farmers must accommodate and face problems such as more diseases, more visible presence of fungi in their crops and greater difficulties for irrigation in summer.

The economic impact on the climate situation is reflected in the scarcity of food due to rising temperatures and increased rainfall. having food shortages are speculators who abuse the prices which affects the economy of the family and therefore each country. and that will reflect when countries begin to live famine in the case Somalia by the lack of rain there is no food.

The political impact are the measures that have to take the government to solve problems that can cause a famine in the country and divert resources that can be used to improve the quality of life of its population in solving the problems of food shortages.

social impact is the problems that society has to face due to the violence that can result from lack of food.

  76. The place were Gramalote, Norte de Santander, is going to be reconstructed is defined.

The government of Norte de Santander decided that a village called Valderrama, located in the east of the municipality, is the place where the town wich on December 17th of 2010, was destroyed by geological faults, is going to be reconstructed. The accident was due to the heavy rains that hit the country and it affected 3,000 people.

The minister of environment, development and housing, Beatriz Uribe Botero, is going to announce the place chosen to build the 1,400 homes.

The reconstruction of this town has a high economic value and this is good for the country because it will enable construction material companies. This also reduces unemployment because a lot of labor is needed. It will also soften the economy of the families that lost their homes and they benefit as they will have a better life quality because they will run less risks, they will have a stable home and they are going to be able to live without a lot of worries.

The government must perform Gramalote’s reconstruction so that politicians have greater credibility because they often promess things but they don’t accomplish them. What happened in Gramalote is the result of the poor planning of towns and municipalities of the country due to the low resources of these people. A lot of lands are located in unstable areas and this leads to such tragedies.

They say that President Hugo Chavez has been improving quickly and satisfactorily to chemotherapy treatment for cancer, and they obtained this information from the Vice President Elias Jaua, who said "satisfactory progress in the fourth session of chemotherapy.
On Wednesday, Jaua also said that Chavez "has been improving."
They say that this treatment may be the last quarter that Chavez is going to take.
Chavez is passing for a very strict routine to recover himself, and he say that he would continue the same for him to go back and continue being the president of Venezuela.

    Impacts:
Around the time that Chavez has been president there were people that liked him as president and as a person and others who are not, that’s why I think that at some point or moment a rebellion or an act of violence among people with different points of view could happen. At the same time will not only see a violence act, we could also see a lack of confidence by part of countries to invest in industry, commerce and infrastructure to generate employment, which would affect the economy of Venezuela.

As we know Chavez at some point of his work as a president has supported groups outside the law which affects us, and this may continue if he get back on his place which will affect us and lower the probability of having a good relationship between the two countries, this relationship does not only involve us it is also with some other countries in the world except those countries which are supported by him such as Bolivia and Ecuador because they share the same type of government, socialist that means that care more about social part than the economics and politics.

  78. My new is about the “Cocoa crops to substitute illicit crops in the Bajo Cauca”. The governor Luis Alfredo Ramos and the deputy secretary general of the United Nations travel the crops of cocoa in the village of Santa Clara, Taraza; where 1.500 of families have benefit of the substitution of illicit crops that driving the United Nations against the crime of the drugs. These have a politics impact that the government switches the land of illicit crops, to plant cocoa and rubber. These have a social impact that the government switches the situation of violence to a better place to live by the substitution program. And have an economic impact, the state will be benefiting in the economic with products that are consumed.

  79. Murdered women
In Colombia there have been 198 murdered women, Antioquia is the most affected department and Medellin is where most of the homicides have been.
In Medellin there have been 79 homicides, some of the causes of this homicides are for revenge, personal problems, passional problems and domestic violence. 51 cases are in research process, 17 were made by criminal gangs, 3 by farc members, 4 they have a specific author y the others haven’t been recognized.
It had been a reduction of the 15% between 2010 and 2011
Between January and September of 2010: 101 homicides.
Between January and September of 2011: 86 homicides.
Domestic violence between 2008 and august of 2011 there are 31.039 victims of murders in which the 82% are women.
Sexual violence 2.016 victims, 90% women.
This have a political impact the government need to worry more about getting the killer, the murders and the security of its habitants, if they worry there wouldn’t be a lot of murders and the security of the country will increase, habitants will blame the criminal gangs and the government so it will be losing power and people would like to change them.
These have economic impact people will not go out and if people don’t go out they doesn’t spent money and companies, restaurants and public places would be affected, many people get affected, like the ones who produce cotton, food because they would need to low the price.
And have social impact: habitants are scared and worried about the security, they will not go out, people could lose their job because companies, restaurants and public places will be affected so they wouldn’t have money to pay to them and unemployed people in the country will increase.

  80. Extensive damages happened because of the overflow of the ravine La Guayabala, this happened yesterday at the morning in Belen Medellin Antioquia
The force of the water affected sevens houses that were very close to the river five of them were affected by floods and the other 2 were affected in the outside part in the construction. At least 30 people were affected.
    Impacts
This news emphasizes that people is affected because their houses are damaged and as this happen once it can happen twice the real problem is that the society is being affected and maybe they are no receiving as much help as they need, yesterday this happened to this 30 people tomorrow this can happen to hundreds of them.
Also this people are not having very good economic circumstances so they can not pay for the damage they need the citizen and the government help, and fortunately there are just seven houses damaged so the cost is not going to be very big but the problem is that as the government in this moment have many things to care about and for them is very difficult to control all this things, they must think about searching preventing the problem instead of controlling it.

  81. Russia an china vetoed Syria’s resolution
Russia and China vetoed on Tuesday the resolution the Security Council from the United Nations on the deteriorating situation in Syria.
In addition of the rejection of these two permanent members, the text had 9 votes in favor and four abstentions.

The document was presented by France, Portugal, Germany and UK, the current European members in the Security Council.

the text states that Syria will have 30 days for the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to end violence against protestants and begin the process of reformations. By failing with the accomplishment with the resolution, the project proposed the Council to assess sanctions against the Syrian government.

The ambassadors of the United States, France and the United Kingdom expressed their indignation at the rejection of the resolution, while the representatives of Russia and China vetoed claimed that because the text was based on a philosophy of confrontation.

Russia and China used their veto power together for 1st time since July 2008 when he opposed a resolution proposing sanctions against Zimbabwe.
It would affect dramatically the political part because it would create independence for Syria’s government and as well stop the involucration of usa and other countries in each country government and solutions ;it would also immediately affect the economy because of the recreation of new alliances of Syria with the countries but also by creating enemies for Russia and China, it would affect all world economic and political issues and decisions
Automatically it would create either a negative or a positive impact in the society in which this case is negative because it would not help at all to stop killing and it would continue with great murders but it would create autonomy for the country and a great power for the population.

  82. Confrontation between protesters and police in the general strike in Greece
About 20.000 people manifested this Wednesday a strike in the center of Atenas, were some people confront with the pólice who use gases (lactimogenos) and made some arrest.

  83. Steve Jobs, the Apple co-founder died yesterday. He was 56 years. Jobs, a computer genius who, with his collage partner Steve Wozniak built the first Apple computer, died of complications from pancreatic cancer.
Apple is a very huge company in a lot of ways, it is world recognized as a very good company and it is the fastest growing company in the United States, but Steve Jobs was the one that deviced, invented and did the new things in Apple. That can cause an economic impact because maybe Apple will not found another person to replace him, or they can replace Steve, but it will be not as brilliant as him. So the sales will decrease because maybe the products will be not so innovative and popular, and the people will be buying in other companies. And that can cause a social impact too, because as simple as that the society will not count anymore with the creativity and passion of Steve, that were the origin of numerous countless innovations that improve the peoples life.
The government benefits from people from other countries that buy in Apple, because like I say before, it is the fastest growing company in the United States, and United States is a world power, so that means Apple is a very important company in the whole world, so the impacts the Apple company has, it affects United States too.

  84. THE EAST TUNNEL ANTIOQUEÑO

On Tuesday October 18 a document was signed for the beginning of the construction of the tunnel of the East(Sajonia). Many people met in the square of Sajonia to protest the start of this work which has a major impact because of the high cost of construction because they have to build tunnels, adequate roads, affect streams, and green areas.
The route starts in the major seminary in Medellín in Las Palmas this first section is a tunnel of 800 meters, then it directs to Santa Elena in another tunnel of 5 km and then back to Sajonia in another tunnel of 8 kilometers.
It is estimated that the tunnel will be delivered in 2015 and has a cost of eight hundred twenty billion pesos.

This can affect many aspects The governor wants to trace his administration because he consider very important to unite the Valle de Aburra (Medellín) y El Valle de Rio Negro. Also Some people agree with the idea of the governor and there are those who do not agree because it is a very costly work and has a large environmental impact, so they prefer that the money has another destination. And the cost of the work is done through the toll collection system is estimated at 80%.And the other 20% is paid by taxes.

  85. News:
President Santos announced 300 uniformed to watch the elections.
He guaranteed that the democracy next Sunday will work.
They are divided in more or less 95 thousand polling stations.
In the last 3 days, 21 military officers died because FARC, in Nariño, Arauca and Caquetá; this made Santos call a meeting about security.
In the meeting he announced that a new battalion is being sent to Arauca.
He said: “to protect the right to elect and be elected, the “operation democracy” has been launched, which is the largest ever made in Colombia”.
According to Santos, until the moment the elections have been a lot safer than in 2007.
In 2007 until 1 week before there were already 116 violent acts, 70 homicide, 10 kidnappings and 63 attacks.
In comparison this year has been instead of 116 violent acts is now 97, homicides was 70 and is now 63, kidnappings still in the same level and attacks decrease from 63 to 24.

    IMPACTS:
This news has a great political impacts, it shows that the government has worried about this and have not only worried but acted as we can see in the analysis and comparison. The citizens trust more in the government and fell safer, however is still a lot of violence so people is still more careful in elections time. Whit the protection the country is providing, more people would be able to practice the right of elect, and this means that the results of the votes would be more accurate.
The use of these officers for the protection of the rest of the citizens has to be paid and so it will be more expensive than last years’ elections. But this is worth it for the safety and protection of the country.

  86. pacific rubiales says that them has not thought of leaving the country
the Canadian oilcompany had problems with their employees because they thought that they were denying them some rights and they were not paying them the fair thing
soon after this there were protests but the situation could be controlled by the administration... for this reason they have shown up some false rumors that the Canadian oil company, the second more important it will suspend their operation in colombia because they didn't have the security so that the employees continued operating, but federico restrepo, the viceprecident of the company already clarifies the situation saying that they won't leave Colombia.
economic: the company lost 800.000 oíl barrels which 81 percent belongs to the nation... social: stopping of working this company in the country it would imply increase of the unemployment
political: the investors won't see in the same way to colombia for the problem that had with this oil company

  87. Excessive aging of China's population
China is a country that have overcrowding so there is a policy in which you can’t have more than one child, everyone have to obey this law and the families that disobey can be fined with several years of wages, the cancellation of access to social services or sometimes can go to jail.
If China had not applied the limitation of births, it would have about 2,000 million people who would be unable to feed, rather than the current 1,340 million. But now the big problem is that the aging crisis is incomparably faster than in Europe.
In the next five years, people that is more than 60 years will be increasing from 178 million to 221 million, and by mid-century people that is more than 65 years would represent 25 percent of China's population, compared to just 9 percent that is today. Half of the old men in China lives in an empty place, or lives in very difficult conditions.

It has an economic and social impact because the one-child policy prevented the birth of nearly 500 million Chinese, and at first that was good but now it transformed into a bigger problem that is the aging population in China, and it implies that old men can’t do their work the same as when they were young and that they need the country to help them with their needs. But it also implies political impacts because as the government work they have to identify and try to help all the old men in China that needs it giving them food, home and the needs they need to survive.

  88. The elections for Mayor in Medellín
Every three years the city elects their Mayor. Alonso Salazar is the actual Mayor of Medellín, he’s in charge of the city until December 31st
The elections are Sunday October 30 and people will vote for Mayor, Governor, Council, Assembly and JAL (Junta Administradora Local).
    The candidates for Mayor are:
    • Luis Perez, candidate that forms part of “firmes por el rescate de Medellín”.
    • Jacqueline Toloza Castaño part of “movimiento mira”.
    • Anibal Gaviria Correa, part of “partido liberal colombiano”.
    • Luis Fernando Muñoz Ramirez, “partido polo democrático alternativo”.
    • Federico Andres Gutierrez Zuluaga, “partido social de unidad nacional, partido de la U”.
Due to some surveys made previously, the 3 favorite and most optioned candidates are: Luis Perez and Anibal Gaviria.
Also some debates made previously stated some of the candidates probable solutions for the main problematics in Medellín.

    Effects:
People will have high expectations of changes according to the programs presented by the candidates. Ratify the democratic system that has Colombia by popular vote to choose their leaders; every adult citizen must fulfill his duty to exercise the right to vote as the democratic system says. To choose the candidate that is responsible for the resources of the municipality or department, this depends on good management, if it does positively the economy and quality of life for the citizens would be better, however if it is poorly managed it can affect the city´s economy.
The management of the resources that Medellín has requires transparency, dedication, good planning, equality and acts of good faith for the proper achievement of the objectives and needs of the regions; people will also need to have in mind that they have the right to choose their representatives, but instead people don’t vote but criticize the government.
